Providing High-Quality Education During COVID-19
The safety, health and well-being of our school community has always been of great importance to us. Prior to COVID-19, we had strict protocols in place that promoted good hygiene and health practices for our students.
Such measures included a child with any illness symptoms or who were not acting like their normal self were asked to leave school and take some needed rest in the comfort of their home. We also had several hand sanitizer dispensers available around our campus including by our secured front door. Parents helped their child wash their hands upon arrival into their classroom and good hand washing practices were seen throughout the day with supervision by our teachers. Classroom materials and furniture were also wiped down daily, and much more.
In response to COVID-19, we have elevated our safety and health measures to meet local and state licensing requirements conducive with the current state of the pandemic. We are in constant communication with officials to seamlessly evolve our measures in order to continue providing a safe, nurturing learning environment for children during their critical development years.

Developments on a local and state level continue to be ever-changing. We remain swift in implementing or revising required protocols as enforced by officials. This web page will be regularly updated to reflect our current health and safety measures.
Our Current Health & Safety Measures
Health Screening
- Each child is provided with hand sanitizer by their parent, guardian, and/or authorized caretaker from one of our hand sanitizer machines. Parents also help and/or observe their child washing their hands with soap and water once they arrive into their classroom. Proper handwashing signs by the CDC are posted at all of our classroom and bathroom sinks.
- Parents, guardians, and/or authorized caretakers are confirming through our electronic sign-in portal at drop-off that their child and household members are not displaying COVID-19 symptoms, have not recently tested positive for COVID-19, have not been exposed to someone with COVID-19, and are not waiting for results of a COVID-19 test.
- If a child is seen experiencing any COVID-19-related symptoms (with or without fever) upon arrival at school or during the school day, they will be asked to leave school and take some needed rest at home. Exceptions are reviewed for students with signed notes by their licensed healthcare provider confirming a chronic diagnosis that is not in relation to COVID-19 symptoms.

- All LCVPK team members go through this health screening process as well every day.
Safety Measures
- Once a child enters their classroom, they immediately wash their hands with soap and water at their classroom sink as monitored by their parent, guardian, and/or authorized caretaker.
- Good hand washing practices continue to be monitored throughout the day by LCVPK team members along with previously placed hand washing and “Cover Your Cough” signage posted at all sinks.
- Hand sanitizer is available by our front door for parents and guardians to use prior to ringing our doorbell if a front member is not easily seen in the front office.
- Up-to-date local and state licensing signage is available for reading outside our front door.
Protective Gear & Equipment
- Disposable gloves are regularly available to staff as needed.
- Each child has their own art supply bag and designated chair labeled with their name for their own use.
- As followed prior to COVID-19, each child has their own water bottle and bedding items which are safely stored in the classroom, whether in their cubby or designated area. Parents are still required to take their child’s bedding and water bottle at the end of the week to wash and return the following week. We are happy to accommodate parents who wish to take their child’s bedding and water bottle every day.
Cleaning & Disinfection
- Each classroom and bathroom has a spray bottle of an eco-and-child friendly non-toxic disinfectant solution that is on the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) List N. All spray bottles are stored in a closed cabinet for adult reach only.
- Each classroom has a strict hourly cleaning schedule that involves indoor and outdoor sanitation of materials, furniture, floors, napping mats after every use, and more.
- Each classroom teacher disinfects all outdoor equipment and materials, including their own designated bucket of toys.
- Administrative team members follow a strict daily sanitation schedule for disinfecting front office equipment and materials, hand sanitizers, thermometers, door bell, and more.
- Trash in every classroom and office is taken out at the end of every day.
Prospective School Families
For families interested in enrolling their child at our school, we are now only offering tours for families on our waitlist who we may have an available space for. This is due to COVID-19 restrictions and limiting foot traffic into our school.
Our health and safety protocols for school tours:
- Only arrive for your tour if you and your household members are not displaying COVID-19 symptoms, have not recently tested positive for COVID-19, have not been exposed to someone with COVID-19, and are not waiting for results of a COVID-19 test.
- Private school tours are only available at this time to a family party of 3. We ask that you hold your child in your arms or hold their hand in order to restrict them from interacting with materials and furniture in our classroom (we know this is tough for young children, thank you though for your understanding!).
